Training

How it works, how to get it

When will you offer courses?

Courses are being developed now. We hope to have the first courses available in 2011..

How will I know when new courses are available?

We’ll tell you in Torch, the New Earth Village newsletter. To subscribe to Torch, go to the top menu, Connect > Newsletter.

What courses will you offer?

Topic areas in community development will include leadership, planning, teamwork, communication, vision-making, community engagement and more.

Personal development will focus on self-awareness, interpersonal skills, principles-based living, and health and well-being.

We welcome your ideas. If you have suggestions, please tell us by completing our 5 minute Training Survey (top menu, Training > Survey or leave us a comment in Tell Us (top menu, Connect > Tell Us).

How does New Earth Village training work?

Go to Training (top menu) for a complete description of New Earth Village's SOAR ProTraining and how you can get it. (under development). The courses themselves are housed in Creator (4 Realms > Creator).

With guidance from us, a course facilitator (TalkWalker) from your community organizes the course participants and the facility, and orchestrates the course.

From the New Earth Village store (top menu, Store), your administrator pays for a SOAR ProTraining pathway (program), then goes to 4 Realms > Creator > [desired course]. The course material is streamed over the internet to a computer at your location. A course guide, downloaded earlier from New Earth Village, is printed by your TalkWalker and distributed to participants.

Like a You Tube video, the streamed audio-visual material is controlled by your local computer. However, instead of video, New Earth Village uses sound with still images to ensure high quality transmission.

Courses are typically a mix of short talks mixed with whole group and small group conversations and exercises, and individual reflection. To learn more, please go to Training (top menu).
