Portugal

Lisbon

I explore the neighbourhoods of Old Town. There is colour, grit and vibrancy here. I am drawn to it and to these people.

Marvao

Perched on a granite crag, the castle of Marvao was built in the 8th century,  likely on the site of an earlier Roman watchtower.

Obidos

Obidos had its origin as an early Roman settlement. As well, it was a celtic village and a centre of trade for Phoenicians.

Sintra

A half hour train ride from Lisbon, Sintra was once the home of Portuguese royals. Many of the royal estates and castles remain today.
